Green School learners visit Phalaborwa Police Station

Learners from Green School visited Phalaborwa Police Station on an educational tour recently.

The learners together with their teachers assembled at the school gate at around 08:15, which is situated 700m from the police station. They were escorted by the Community Policing Forum (CPF), traffic officers and SAPS members to SAPS Phalaborwa.

They were warmly welcomed by the station’s management in partnership with the CPF led by Anton Kellerman. During the visit, learners were instructed on the danger of crime and told to avoid lifts and gifts from strangers.

They were further encouraged to report any criminal activities including bullying and theft to their teachers and to parents or guardians.

The spokesperson of the station, Sgt Elvis Mongwe, says that the fight to eliminate crime within society by educating children about the consequences of criminal activities remains a priority of the SAPS.
