Mama Joy gets hitched to French boyfriend
The international sports super fan got married to her French partner, who is affectionately known as Papa Joy.
Mama Joy is officially a married woman! This happened during a traditional wedding in Mbokota village outside Malamulele on Saturday. She met the love of her life last year during the Rugby World Cup in France. The pair exchanged wedding bands in the presence of Mama Joy’s family.
During the ceremony, the couple danced to traditional Xitsonga music and shared photos with the guests. In August Mama Joy spent three weeks in France with Papa Joy’s family.

Papa Joy’s mother gave her a gold ring and watch as a symbol of welcoming her into their family. Papa Joy arrived in South Africa on September 7, and the couple immediately got engaged in Cape Town. Last week he arrived in Malamulele for lobola celebrations and met the entire Chauke family.
Being a respectful man, he bought Mama Joy’s family gifts and also visited her father’s grave. There are speculations that they will hold a white wedding in France in the presence of Papa Joy’s family. However, it is still not clear if she will be packing up to live in France full-time. One thing for sure is that love is in the air for the love birds.
