Rethabile Primary School is best choir in Limpopo

The Rethabile Primary School choir from Namakgale is the provincial school choir champions.

They were recently named the Limpopo champs at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane. According to the choir conductor, Ditsoanelo Malapane, this year they are ready to take the national title. They will face choirs from other provinces at the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg in August. Last year the choir had also qualified to for the nationals, but were knocked out in the first round.

“This year we have been working really hard. We practice three times a day, from Monday to Saturday. Malapane believes that winning comes with hard work, hence they are training hard for the upcoming final. He applauds the parents for not withholding the learners from attending rehearsals and always willing to contribute financially.

David Shikweni, Namakgale circuit manager, said he is proud to lead a circuit of provincial champions. He wishes them well in the finals. “They must know that they are not representing Namakgale, but the entire Limpopo.” The school principal, Peter Maake said: “I feel honoured and blessed, this is a collective achievement; the support from our district director, our circuit manager, the school community, particularly parents and teachers at the school and all those who were behind us.

Above all we thank the Almighty God, thank you.”
