Police arrest a suspect found with murdered teacher’s possessions

A man was arrested after he was found in possession of the laptop of a murdered female teacher.

The 41-year-old man was arrested on Monday, June 19 by the police comprising of a Mopani District Tracking team, a Giyani detective, and Giyani Crime Intelligence on possession of stolen property.  The 50-year-old teacher of Vuhehli Primary School was killed in March at Vuhehli village outside Giyani.

The suspect was found to be in possession of the items which were stolen during the murder. “During the arrest, police recovered a silver-grey Lenovo laptop, charger, and wireless black mouse.

“An investigation to link him with the murder case is still underway,” said police provincial spokesman, Col Malesela Ledwaba. The provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe, has applauded the team for arresting the suspect and is hoping for positive results as the investigation unfolds.

The arrested suspect has appeared before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court for possession of stolen property. The police investigation is ongoing. Call 08600 10111 or the nearest police station with more information.
