Naughty Boys crowned 2021 KLG Super Division champions

“The KLG Soccer League have teams from areas such as Lephepane, Mahlogwe, Khujwana, Tlhabine, Leolo, Bokgaga, Mogapeni, Pharare, Ramalema, Rita, Moime, Mokomotji, Dan, Lenyenye, Pulaneng, Nabane to mention the few,” said Marupine Sape, KLG Sports chairman.

“Following the outbreak of Covid-19 and the declaration of the state of emergency, all KLG activities were suspended and only the KLG Soccer Leagues resumed in March 2021 when the lockdown regulations were relaxed. “The 2021 KLG Premier Division was concluded with Napscom FC being crowned champions during the last fixture of the season,” said Sape.

He added that Bancock and Bokgaga Juventus have automatically been relegated to the KLG Super Division and Bokgaga Naughty Boys and two other KLG Super Division teams will be promoted to the KLG Premier Division. The Super Division affiliations will be open to any interested teams when the new 2022 season starts.

The Kaizer Letsoalo Games (KLG) is an NPO that aims to blend sport and education within local communities. KLG was established in 2008, by its patron, David Kaizer Letsoalo. They host various events including amongst others, the Richard Modipane Award Ceremony which honours top performed matriculants. They also stage essay writing and debate competitions.

In August each year, the KLG Schools Sports event is hosted for primary and secondary schools to participate in soccer, netball, volleyball, and chess. KLG is also proud of itself in presenting the KLG Soccer League; the KLG Super Division with seventeen teams and the Premier Division with fifteen teams.

They also host tournaments such as the KLG Super and Top 8, Lephepane KLG Easter Tournament, Ma-Afrika Soccer Tournament, Batlhabine Heritage Tournament, and the KLG Pamo Cup during the festive season and attracts spectators from near and far.
