Local schools achieve despite provincial decline

Schools in Tzaneen and surrounding areas produced matric results well above the Limpopo average despite two years of disrupted learning.

The Tzaneen circuit achieved a 83.4 pass rate with 54.6% learners getting a bachelors pass. It is also the top achieving circuit in the Mopani West district.
Top performing schools are Die Hoërskool Ben Vorster with a 98% pass rate and three learners with seven distinctions and four learners with six distinctions. 219 learners have qualified for further studies.

Merensky High School has a 99% pass rate with one learner with with seven distinctions and four learners with six distinctions.
Stanford Lake College students excelled with two students receiving eight distinctions each, two with seven distinctions and one with six distinctions. They also boasts a 100% pass rate since the inception of the school.
St George College in Nkowankowa is also one of the top performing schools.

They boast a 100% pass rate with five learners achieving seven distinctions and another five learners with six distinctions. 97% of their learners received a bachelors pass.
Meridian College in Nkowankowa also boasts a 100 pass rate with 36 out of 38 learners receiving a bachelors pass.
