Ten men from Dan Village who were arrested in connection with the killing of a 16-year old boy, Mikateko Mathye appeared before the Ritavi Magistrate Court last Thursday.

Mikateko was believed to be part of the ‘Boko Haram’, a gang that terrorizes Dan Village, Lusaka, Rhulani, Nkowankowa and other neighbouring villages.

Some gang members are believed to be as young as 16.

Mikateko’s wounded naked body was found hanging behind Charles Mathonsi Secondary School.

The men, who are aged between 25-45 years were charged with murder, kidnapping, attempted murder, malicious damage to property and arson.

They were released on R1 500 bail each earlier this year.

Ritavi police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Seth Magadzi said the men will appear again in court on May 8.
