New TV series on the cards for Tzaneen

Tzaneen residents will soon have the opportunity to watch a locally produced drama series on television.

The 26 episode series titled ‘Cyber Crime’ is the brainchild of Pleasure Hlungwani from Medi Park.

Hlungwani told the Herald that the main objective of the drama was to educate people about the dangers of online crime.

“After falling victim to cyber crime, I wanted to teach others about the pros and cons of technology.

“We have just finished shooting the trailer for the drama and we will soon film the whole story.

“We are calling on local aspiring actors and TV production enthusiasts to be part of the project.

“We want this project to promote the talent and the beauty of Tzaneen, as it will be filmed in the region,” Hlungwani explained.

He was part of the Xitsonga popular soapie, ‘Giyani Land of Blood’ which played on SABC 2.

He is currently looking for funding or sponsors to assist with the success of the series.

Filming the trailer he was assisted by Tzaneen Caltex Motors, K Maswanganyi Attorneys and the Greater Tzaneen Municipality.

According to Hlungwani the drama has been commissioned by Limpopo TV, which means it will be given a slot on the provincial TV platform.
