Young Leopards’ striker on loan

Premier Soccer League side, Black Leopards FC recently put some of their young players on loan.

Lanky striker Tebogo Modiba (21) has been loaned to National First Division Glad Africa Championship side TS Sporting FC for just one season while midfielder Selby Rapatsa is still sorting contract issues with the same club.

Rapatsa and Modiba were promoted from the Multichoice Diski Challenge team to the senior team last season. Modiba was part of the Leopards team that saved the club’s status last season.

Already Modiba has played a game for his new club in their 2-1 defeat to Steenburg FC recently.

“I am glad they sent me here because I am getting game time. NFD is a tough league and I believe it will give me the necessary preparation for the PSL next season. I want to score as many goals as possible,” he said.

Leopards MDC coach Mgezi Boboe said they decided to put their young players on loan because they were only training with the senior club without game time.

“Playing regularly will give them the necessary confidence and experience they will need to play in the PSL next season,” the coach said.
