Locals will have the opportunity of enjoying farm fresh produce directly from the farm at the Magoebaskloof Farmers' Market on Saturday 7 November.

The event will take place at the Magoebaskloof Farmstall & Café on the R71 from 09:00 to 17:00.

Products will range from freshly baked bread, farm fresh eggs, apron and placemats, feta cheese, chillies, lemon curd, beadwork, mozzarella, fruits and vegetables and homemade produce. T

his will be the third market since the start of the year, the first one was in February, but due to Covid-19 the market only resumed in September.

“Some of our stallholders are not able to continue with their stalls, because they don’t even have the cash to buy stock or petrol to get to the market.

“Stallholders pay a small fee to be there, but entrance for the public is free,” she said. She added that they are planning to make it a monthly event, except for when there are other markets such as Mina’s. The idea is to help people and not to hurt other markets, she said.

According to Franken the idea behind the market is to give local farmers and producers the opportunity to sell directly to the public.

Harry van den Heever of the Magoebaskloof Farmstall & Café, concluded by saying that visitors will be able to also enjoy live music and a beer garden.
