“The community was once terrorised by gangs of crime and substance abuse in the past until the Premier of Limpopo Hon. Stanley Mathabatha intervened and subsequently, they came to a point where they organised themselves to work with the police and started patrolling to get rid of the problem from the streets of their village,” explained Joel Seabi, Provincial Spokesman for transport.

The MEC undertook the initiative in order to intensify support to the people in fighting crime, and in line with the stance of government to empower communities in their union with police against crime.

“It is also part of the MEC’s drive in building up to the launch of OPERATION SWARA TSOTSI which he will launch together with the Provincial Commissioner of Police soon,” Seabi concluded.
