TZANEEN: Small business gives back to the community
A local businessman is doing his part in eradicating poverty by giving back to his community in Mhangweni Village outside Tzaneen.
Golden Manyike, Owner of White Corner Shisanyama and Car washExclusives, together with his team donated sanitary pads to 64 learners from BM Mkhabela Secondary School and 16 pairs of school shoes to selected learners from Mhangweni Primary School.
Manyike started his schooling journey at Mhangweni Primary School and says to him it means a lot to be able to give back to his former school.
The team also took the time to motivate the learners by encouraging them to study hard and to never let their backgrounds hinder their dreams.
“I’m happy that today White Corner visited us and also grateful for the donations, as our parents don’t always have money to buy sanitary pads for us.
“It will also help in reducing the number of learners who sometimes skip school, because of having no pads,” explained Nyiko Mashabana, a learner from BM Mkhabela High School.

Meanwhile Hitekani Shikwambana, Principal of Mhangweni Primary School expressed her gratitude for the donations.
“On behalf of the teachers and parents, we are grateful for the contribution towards our learners.
We feel sad when we see our kids without shoes and we pray that God bless their business,” Shikwambana said.
Manyike and entourage said they are happy everything went accordingly, but most importantly they now see that there is more to be done in making school easy for the local learners and promised to continue doing their bit in improving the lives of the learners.
“I’m happy that we were able to finally give something back to our people and we promise to continue supporting where we can,” Manyike said.
He also thanked all the people who lent a helping hand in the donations including Minki Phakula, Fatima Mushwana, Nkateko ‘Queen Vosho’ Mohlala and Matome Sekgoka, he concluded by stating that he still need their help in changing the lives of these learners going forward.
