GALLERY: Letaba Rugby Club honour their sponsors

The evening was graced by the presence of the oldest living member of the Tzaneen Rugby Club, Ernst Kapp 'Oom Kappie' (89).

The Letaba Rugby Club held a prestige evening on Friday night to thank their sponsors for all their assistance, donations and commitment to the club throughout the year.

The current board of the club, consisting of Gawie du Plessis, Club President, Bennie Kruger as Chairperson, Dewald Kamffer as Vice Chairperson and Jaco Moller, Club Captain gave thanks to the club’s farm and business sponsors by handing over gifts to them throughout the function.

The evening was graced by the presence of the oldest living member of the Tzaneen Rugby Club, Ernst Kapp ‘Oom Kappie’ (89).

Oom Kappie played for the club in 1957 and a photo of the team he captained is on show in the Bosbok Kroeg. He mentioned how he has seen the club go from strength to strength over the years and is very happy to see that it continues to grow.

Kapp received a Letaba Rugby Club jacket, cap and other gifts from the club.

Among the farm sponsors, Henley Boerdery was recognised as the farm sponsor of the year, Deona Export as the individual sponsor of the year and LCP as the merit sponsor of the year.

The 2018 business sponsor of the year was Hi-Q Tzaneen. Quality Plant Hire were recognised as the merit business sponsor of the year and Mercurius Tzaneen as the head sponsor of the year.

The evening was finished off with a delicious potjie and side dishes.
