Raldah crowned boxing champion

Many says that boxing is a male sport but now women are dominating.

Raldah Maluleke, who hails from Shigamani Village in Malamulele is making waves, this came after she won the South African Boxing Amature Female Champion which was held recently in Mpumalanga.

“I’m so happy that I won but my main goal is to go into the professional side because I’m now ready.

“Anyway it is every amateur’s  dream to be at the professional side because that is were you benefit,” she said.

“Boxing is a good sport that takes young people from bad habits such as drugs and alcohol because you will spend lots of time at gym.,” she says.

“I’m worried because in South Africa boxing is still under rated and is not taken serious like other countries, this is why it is not televised or radio broadcasted like other sports that we have,” said Chabalala.

Her message to young people who wants to do boxing is that it doesn’t matter where you come from as long as you can box is good.

Her Trainer Eric Baloyi of Malamulele Boxing Club (MBC) described her as a good and disciplined child who always shows commitment to her boxing career.

“Raldah Ralph, is a discipline child who always attends training sessions and gives you 100 % at the gym. with this commitment she is going places,” he said.

In 2012 she was crowned the best female boxer and in 2016 she won the Nelson Mandela Champion League. Her goal is to conquer Africa and the whole world she says.
