Hoedspruit Rotary welcomes new lady President
Her vision for the club for this year is to serve in a BIG WAY and do BIG THINGS in the greater Hoedspruit community.
July marks the beginning of the 2018-2019 Rotary year. It is when the new President accepts the baton of leadership of the club.
On Saturday 9 June, Wilna Mew was inaugurated as the new president of Rotary Hoedspruit after spending a year in the wings under the guidance of past President Rose White.
It is certainly interesting to note how close the President’s responsibilities are to running any business.Wilna will preside over the club’s board meetings and ensure that her committee chairs and members carry out their commitments. She warrants that her financial team produce a budget, manage club finances which includes an annual audit. She ultimately reports to the District Governor of Rotary District 9400.

Rotary has a strong support system and Wilna will be ably backed not only by her club and immediate past President but by other district leaders.
At her inauguration, the main theme of her address speech hinged on “Three misconceptions that can keep us from having great ambitions”.
She reminded us that when we confuse fear with humility or confuse laziness with contentment or when we confuse small thinking with spirituality by saying ‘I serve God in my own little way’, this limits our prospects.
