TZANEEN:Royalty with brains
Princess Nomkhosi Nkambule proves that there is nothing more royal than wisdom.
Nkambule a grand-daughter to Chief N’wamitwa the Second, recently raised the South African flag high in the finals of the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute Global Research Challenge, held in Dublin (Ireland) on April 4-5.
CFA Institute is a global body that certifies a qualification for Financial Analysts.
The challenge happens annually in over 75 countries, with more than 1000 participants.

In South Africa, about eight teams took part in the challenge, then four teams went to the finals, the teams were; Team one and Team two from the University of Johannesburg (Nkambule was part of Team two), University of Pretoria and University of Cape Town.
Her team won the South African local finals and 40 teams participated in the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) finals in Dublin.
“ This experience has a been a great learning curve both academically and individually, it has taught me a lot about the importance of not only hard work but perseverance and backing yourself. I am proud that myself and my team made it this far and am eternally grateful for this opportunity,” said Nkambule.
However her team did not manage to qualify to the semi-final stages.
She was born and bred in Nkowankowa and Aqua Park in Tzaneen, before relocating to Johannesburg with her parents.
She started her schooling at Unicorn Primary, she completed her secondary education at Stanford Lake College and went on to complete her BCOM at the University of Witwatersrand and her post graduate at UJ in Investment Management.
She is walking in the foot steps of the women around her such as her mother, Princess Tsakani Nkambule, who is an academic herself and a successful business woman.
Her grand mother Chief N’wamitwa the second, who is a former parliamentarian and the current female chief of the N’wamitwa region.
The young intellectual’s parents expressed their joy on their big girl’s achievements.
“As parents we are filled with pride at her recent accomplishments. We were pleasantly surprised at all her achievements at the same time.”
This Sterling record will stand her in good stead in the highly regarded and competitive field of Investment management,” said Princess Tsakani Nkambule”, proud mother. Currently she is an Advisory Intern at Alexander Forbes and her future is looking ever brighter.
