TZANEEN: Manhunt launched after brutal killing of local businessman and assistant

The Police in Letsitele have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects involved in the brutal killing of a businessman and his assistant after they were reported missing on December 27.

According to Col Moatshe’ Ngoepe, it is alleged that the two men were en route from  Giyani to Nwajaheni in the Letsitele Policing area but they never arrived at their destination.

It was later established that their vehicle was hijacked.

‘The matter was reported to the Police and a joint search operation ensued until their bodies were found Thursday afternoon December 28 with signs of brutal assaults in the bushes between Morudjie and Mavele villages outside Tzaneen,’ Ngoepe said.

The motive behind this incident is not clear. Police investigations are ongoing.

The two deceased were identified as, Salim Vali Patel (44 ) from Tzaneen, who was a businessman in Dzumeri village outside Giyani and Victor Baloyi (31 ) from Rwanda village in the Noamitoa area outside Tzaneen, Ngoepe said.
