Limpopo colours, SA Champs and spirit trophy for Merensky’s sizzling MTB team

The Plasie team claimed overall 3rd place out of 17 Limpopo high schools.

The dynamite Merensky Mountain Biking (MTB) team once again delivered an exceptional performance at the final round of the Limpopo MTB Championships held at Louis Trichardt on Saturday, September 17.

The Plasie team claimed overall 3rd place out of 17 Limpopo high schools, leading Pietersburg Hoërskool in 4th position by a momentous 105 points. The Plasie bikers also won the much coveted Limpopo MTB Team Spirit trophy.

Podium finishes and Limpopo school MTB colours were achieved by Amelia Middleton (1st U/18 Girls), Armand Cronjé (1st U/16 Boys), Sancha Van Niekerk (3rd U/18 Girls) and Sheldon Muller (3rd U/18 Boys) who will all represent Limpopo in the South African MTB championships at Bekker High School in Gauteng on October 7 and 8.

Contributions from fellow team members Bevan Muller (4th U/15), Annaline Rood (4th U/14), Matthew Taylor (13th U/15), Kyle Janse Van Rensburg (16th U/18) and Shaun De Beer (17th U/14) as well as John-Robert Honiball, Reghardt Joubert, Alrich Hugo, PJ Eckard, Ronan Theron and Gunther Katzke earned additional points for the team.
