Executive mayor hands over a house

The executive mayor of Mopani, Nkakareng Rakgoale together with the mayor of Greater Tzaneen Municipality, Maripe Mangena officially handed over a house to an impoverished family in Leolo Village on Friday

The head of the Lemao family is a senior citizen, who is 105 years old and is also blind. The family have been living in a two room house.

The family was identified by a Community Development Worker (CDW) who then informed the mayor.

The MEC of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Makoma Makhurupetje instructed that a contractor be appointed immediately after she was informed.

The house was finished within a week. The executive mayor thanked the MEC and Eternity Stars for donating the family with furniture.

Molebaleng Lemao spoke on behalf of the family. “Thank you for what you have done for us, may you also do it to other families as well,” she said.

Community members came in large numbers to witness the event and celebrate with the Lemao family.
