TZANEEN: Damage, but welcome rains bring relief
Heavy thunder storms rocked the Tzaneen area throughout last night.
Tzaneen and surrounding areas have had over 100mm of rain since it started to pour yesterday evening.
Exact measurements vary from area to area and range from 60mm to 140mm.
In the Haenertsburg/Magoebaskloof area it rained between 130-150mm according to some residents there.
Crop farmers across Limpopo are ecstatic as it continues to rain.
Weather predictions indicate the possibility of further light showers for the remainder of the week, according to the South African Weather Service.
Sometimes it rains too hard though, as some locals unfortunately experienced.
The tropical thunderstorm, that many refer to, hit the Pusela, Politisi and Wheelbarow area and parts of Tzaneen with harsh winds causing damage to buildings , structures, and trees alike.
