Woman killed in accident close to Merensky High school
A woman was declared dead on the scene after an accident late Friday night close to Merensky High School.
According to a statement, paramedics from ER24 and local emergency services arrived shortly before midnight on the scene where they found the severely damaged vehicle down the embankment.
It is believed that the car she was traveling in overturned and crashed down an embankment along the R36 near Merensky High School.
Upon assessment, ER24 found that the woman was trapped inside the vehicle.
‘She had multiple fatal injuries. There was nothing that paramedics could do for her and she was declared dead on the scene. It is believed that she was the only occupant of the vehicle,’ ER24 said.
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known and authorities attended the scene.
An investigation will be conducted.
The name of the woman is not yet known.
It is believed that the deceased is in her late 30’s.
