Khoza and Mali wins Marula Golf challenge

Nathaniel Khoza and Mandli Mali are the 2023 Marula Golf Challenge winners after they bagged the title at the Tzaneen Country Club recently.

The pair won with 46 points, followed by Nathi Sedibe and Michael Ngobeni on 45 points. Khoza won the first ever Marula Golf Tournament in 2006 and ever since he has won a couple of Marula golf events.

Development, Environment and Tourism, Rodgers Monama and the MEC for Sport, Nakedi
Kekana.

“I’m happy to have won, and I have to admit that my familiarity with the course has helped a lot. It was a combination of good sportsmanship and a bit of experience which resulted in the win.” Meanwhile, Selaelo Maponya was the ladies longest drive winner and Ronald Malatji her counterpart in the male
division.

Cindy Shabangu was nearest to the pin for the women, while Leo Gama bagged this title for the men.
The nearest to the pin and longest drive winners won a getaway worth R12 000 and Khoza and Mali won a fancy picnic basket. The MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, Rodgers
Monama, Sport MEC, Nakedi Kekana and Limpopo Tourism Agency Board Chairperson, Andrew Dipela, attended the prize-giving ceremony.

Marula Golf organiser, Edwell Matukane, said they were pleased with the turnout. “We reached our full number of participants and unfortunately we had to turn some away. The Tzaneen Country Club was a great course to play at and we want to thank all 14 sponsors for their support.”
