This long weekend also means the end of the first quarter of the year (if you go by the school holidays calendar).

To me, it’s quite shocking that we are heading into April. Our long summer days are gone and we will shortly be experiencing autumn in all its glory.

How will I be spending my Easter? With family of course, because what else is there at the end of it all, but family?

I would like to take this moment to reiterate what Easter is really all about. Being a Christian, I consider this holiday to be the most important of all.

Easter is a festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, and is described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion.

To all our loyal readers and friends of the News I would like to say, “Happy Easter”. I hope you enjoy this time with those you love and that you will find renewed energy for the next quarter. If you are travelling, take care on the roads and enjoy your holiday.

To my two amazing journalists, thank you for all your hard work so far this year.

Until next week, happy Easter egg hunting, Krugersdorp!
