Why so inconsiderate?

I am very fortunate not to have to spend a lot of time stuck in traffic when travelling to and from work. But something that has been bugging me for quite a while is that most motorists (and I include myself) are very inconsiderate of others on the road. I travel to work on Voortrekker …

I am very fortunate not to have to spend a lot of time stuck in traffic when travelling to and from work.

But something that has been bugging me for quite a while is that most motorists (and I include myself) are very inconsiderate of others on the road.

I travel to work on Voortrekker Road and take the turn-off to Witpoortjie at the weekend robot (Chamdor Road).

This particular intersection is where I experience the most inconsiderate behaviour from motorists. Not just that, motorists also seem to forget the rules of the road at this intersection.

I just have one simple question; why so inconsiderate?

It’s like we lose our humanity when getting stuck in peak hour traffic. We curse at each other and we become very spiteful …

And then, as soon as traffic returns to ‘normal’, so do we.

It really saddens me that people become monsters in traffic. We actually gamble with our lives and potentially put other motorists in harm’s way because we act in this manner.

I am ashamed to say that I do the same.

From now on I am going to change my ways and be more considerate towards my fellow motorists.

The question is, will you?

Something to think about, Krugerdorp.

Until next week, just try to be a bit more considerate.
