This year, the News’ team and its colleagues from Caxton Joburg West will take part in Tekkie Tax Day.

What is Tekkie Tax, you ask?

Swap your high heels, work shoes or school shoes for your favourite comfy pair of takkies, and join the worthy cause of helping to protect the vulnerable.

Participating means that you need to choose your sticker, get a pair of funky Tekkie Tax shoelaces and wear your takkies on Friday 26 May.

You can get a sticker of your choice for a R10 donation from The 9th Day Animal Shelter. You can also get a packet of funky shoelaces and a sticker for R35 at any Clicks, Toys R Us or Babies R Us, or order directly online at tekkietax@mweb.co.za.

The 9th Day Shelter is a local organisation which will benefit directly from the News’ participation in Tekkie Tax Day.

So come on, what are you waiting for? Get your stickers or laces and show your involvement!

And while you are busy showing off your funky laces, why not take a picture and send it to the News? We will feature the pics on our Facebook page. Send your photo, along with a short description of yourself or your company, to krugersdorpnews@caxton.co.za.

If you would like to reach out to the shelter, contact Charmaine Booysens on 082 924 9337 or email her at charmaine@the9thday.co.za.
