Editor's note

Our thoughts are with you

This weekend was truly a very, very sad one.

A lot of lives were lost in Krugersdorp during last weekend.

The weekend started on a very traumatic note for the family members of the eight who died in the horrific taxi and truck accident on Friday afternoon. Three of those who died were children.

On Saturday another mother and father lost their child. A 14-year-old boy drowned in the Coronation Dam.

This weekend was truly a very, very sad one.

As I write this note of mine, my emotions are running high. I have said it before, and I am going to say it again –dying in an accident is not a natural way to go. It should not have even happened at all. But it did.

I know that many fingers are being pointed and many want to know who is going to take the blame.

The best thing we can do right now is let the authorities do their work. The guilt that the people involved in both these cases have is without a doubt tremendous.

Yes, people want answers and yes, they are most probably demanding action, but right now the pain is still too raw.

From our side here at the News, our condolences to those who are hurting right now. May you find comfort in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

To those who need to figure out why these incidents happened, we wish you good luck.

Be safe on the road and take care when you put yourself in a vulnerable position. Life is precious.

Until next week.
