Editor's note

Hello 2017! It’s good to see you!

What will the new year bring?

The new year has finally arrived and everyone has welcomed it with open arms.

It’s probably because 2016 was quite a tough year for most people.

What will the new year bring? Hopefully a little less despair and suffering. But to move on, I believe we first need to reflect a bit.

Last year was not all that bad. The saying “what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger” actually has a point.

We survived a lot and carried on like champions. But I am not one for harping on the past.

Let’s get going with this year and let’s start by following through with our new year’s resolutions!

What are my resolutions for this year? I’ve kept it simple yet effective, if you think about it:

• This year I am going to be more patient.

• This year I will listen more attentively before speaking and judging.

• This year I am going to continue with what I started last year and not necessarily quit because it’s a new year.

• This year I will focus more on myself and my marriage.

• This year I will try to make a difference in one person’s life every day of the week.

• This year I would like to read more books.

• This year I am going to take better care of my skin, starting by drinking more water and using sunblock.

My list goes on and on … but this is what I want to do in general. Usually I don’t make resolutions, but as I get older I need to challenge myself more.

Share your resolutions with me by leaving a comment in the section below. I would love to know what your resolutions are.

Happy new year Krugersdorp! Until next week.
