Editor's note

Will we see a change?

By the end of this week, things in our local municipalities could look very different ... or not.

As we head to the polling stations to leave our marks, a few questions are swirling around in my head.

Do we as a community really know what we are voting for? Most importantly, will my vote really make a difference?

It feels to me that this municipal election is the most important one ever.

I remember voting five years ago, but I can’t really remember any hype around it. Thinking back to the various campaigns launched by the political parties, none of them really stood out.

Why is this time any different? Krugersdorpers and South Africans are in desperate need of change … that’s why.

We need for things to start looking up. For things to start working out. We need a brighter light at the end of this dark tunnel.

For weeks I have now been encouraging readers to display a positive attitude towards life, love and our beautiful town, Krugersdorp. Right now I feel that the very people who run this town of ours need to show us what we have been fighting for.

No matter who you vote for and no matter what direction these elections take, we need to support those who have chosen to make Krugersdorp their number one priority.

Be the change you want to see in Krugersdorp, and make the right choice.

Until next week, take care Krugerdorp.
