I’ve recently been thinking about everything I would have done different in my life if I was 10 years younger.

There are a lot of things.

One thing always comes to mind; I will be more disciplined when it comes to exercise. The other thing I would have wanted to do differently is worry less, especially about how my life would be if I was older.

Questions like “will I make enough money” and “will I have a proper job” were always popping in and out of my head when I was in my early 20s.

Now, in my early 30s, I am just laughing at my younger and clearly worried-about-the-wrong-things self.

The things I worry about now for when I am older are, “what happens if I get sick” and “what am I going to do if my parents are no longer there”.

I think it is safe to say my perception about life has drastically changed.

I just want to be happy and I want everyone else around me to be happy too.

Perhaps as we approach Easter, we can all just try to be happy, even just for one day?

The US Country singer Cheryl Crow’s song is now buzzing in my head; “If it makes you happy, then why the hell are you so sad?”

So for the upcoming holidays I am going to seriously try and be happy … will you too? Just try…
