Last week a dear friend of mine lost probably the most important person in her life; her mother.

Those close to her knew that she and her family were going through a very difficult time regarding their sick loved one.

We shared the emotional journey she was on and we tried to comfort her when she was near breaking point.

And then we received the news; our dear friend had to say goodbye to her mother, her best friend and the first person she ever loved.

Just as devastated about the news, I immediately thought of my own mother and what I would do if I was faced with the same situation.
I couldn’t even grasp it. How would I cope?

No one can ever prepare you for losing a loved one, and no matter what everyone else says, no one can fill that void.

It always takes a death to make me realise that life is so short and that time is precious. And perhaps I should change my perspective.

But the real question is; what does it take in your life to realise the same? What will change your perspective?

To my dear friend, may God hold you close to his heart during this difficult time. I love you.
