A hot topic that has taken over social media is Keeping up with the Kardashians star Bruce Jenner’s transition into a woman.
My husband has prohibited me from watching them on TV at home…but I still follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and try to stay on top of what’s happening.
The Kardashians and their family are my guilty pleasure…
Bruce’s recent revelations sparked many debates about it just being another stunt the family is pulling to generate even more ratings.
Personally I am so shocked that I really do not know what to think.
I am sure Bruce’s situation is very relatable and many South Africans, even Krugersdorpers, are going through the same thing.
It has made me realise that very little awareness has been made around gender transition. Perhaps it’s time it is discussed in a more formal manner?
My message to anyone dealing with this is to always stay true to yourself and to never give up.
We all get to a point where we feel like strangers in our own bodies, but perseverance is key.
Whatever the Kardashians and Jenners are doing with this new chapter in their very public lives, all I can say is good luck and may God bless you.
