This week hundreds of Krugersdorp children started their school careers.

Twelve years of attending school will prepare them for the rest of their adult life.

Is it enough?
Some would say it is, while others would say that children of today have too much to cope with.

I remember my first day of school, vaguely of course, but I remember how fun it was to learn how to write.
In today’s schools, grade one’s already know how to write and do all the basics that I learned in grade one. How times have changed.

The bottom line is, school is not just a place where children learn anymore. It has become a place where our futures are created.

We have to remember that we all play a part in it … because you never really graduate from the school of life.

Good luck to all the proud parents of Krugersdorp!
