I thoroughly enjoyed the power outage that occurred this past Sunday.

Not only was is lovely taking an afternoon nap without all the buzzing of the electrical appliances in my house, but I also used the time to reflect on my very fortunate life.

Just like water, we take electricity for granted.
My husband said something which will stay with me for a while. He said, “I wish Eskom will turn off the power more often”. What did he mean by this?

He meant that for him it was absolute bliss to enjoy the quiet with me, and I will forever cherish his remarks about that situation.
For many others not having electricity was pure agony. But I truly hope that for one second, just one, you took in the quiet and enjoyed the sounds of nature around you.

Maybe it is time we started turning off the buzzing in our heads more often?
Just a thought…
