If I was in any way associated with the SA Post Office I would be really embarrassed, to say the least.

I can remember, when I was about 7 or 8 years old, how prestigious it use to sound when someone said ‘I work for the post office’.
My grandfather, rest his soul, worked for the post office. I can still remember the way he looked in his uniform. He was very proud of his job.

If my grandfather was still alive today, he would bow his head in shame because of the way things turned out.
The simplest envelope containing a letter was handled with such care back in the day.

Today, our earliest form of communication is treated like worthless trash.
The message behind the strike is long gone. The only think people know now is that our country makes a mockery of what was once our proud and joy.

It’s a shame we can’t even write our deepest, darkest feelings in a letter anymore, because it will probably never reach the person for whom it is intended.
So, so sad!
