Roll out the red carpet and polish your father’s sports car because it is matric farewell season in Krugersdorp.
This week four local high school’s matrics will put their best foot (and shoe) forward when they celebrate the end of their 12 year school career.
But with all the glitz and the glam comes under-age drinking and driving and unprotected sexual encounters.
My matric farewell was 12 years ago and the things I saw happening there made me realise that no amount of preparation can lead you down the right track.
My advice to our matrics is to take care. Take care of yourself and your partner.
This is the one night you have to let loose a bit before your final exams and before the rest of your life starts.
So take care and congratulations for making it this far!
