KHS celebrates Easter holidays with victorious sport festival

Seven schools among them Prince Edward School from Zimbabwe gave it their all in a four-day festival held at KHS over Easter.

Krugersdorp High School (KHS) hosted its annual Best of the West Easter Festival from Thursday, April 6 to Monday, April 10.

This year’s festival was packed with super exciting matches in the sporting codes of hockey and rugby – with much of the focus being on the latter. It was also extra special as KHS was celebrating 120 years of excellence and for the first time, schools from Zimbabwe were invited to be part of the Easter festival.

Among the participating schools were Hoërskool Bastion, Hoërskool Randburg, Pinetown Boys, and Prince Edward School. The standout games, however, involved mainly the senior boys (U18 teams).

The results of the games were:

• Eye of the Tiger Academy 23–12 Prince Edward
• Hoërskool Bastion 22–5 Pinetown Boys
• Hoërskool Randburg 0–42 Prince Edward School
• Hoërskool Bastion 23–8 Christian Boys College
• Christian Boys College 18–15 Price Edward School
• Eye of the Tiger 20–18 Bastion

The festival also ended on a high note as KHS would be victorious against Benoni High School leaving many players coaches and spectators feeling proud.

Regarding the action on the astroturf, KHS went head-to-head against Randpark High School, Heron Bridge College, and Hillcrest High. The results are as follows:

• KHS 6-0 Randpark High
• KHS 3-1 Hillcrest
• KHS 1-1 Heronbridge
• KHS 2-0 Pinetown Boys
