N Diederichs wins Mogale Soccer Top 8 tournament
The HTS N Diederichs THS soccer team recently added another trophy to their collection but they want to go for five this year.
The U/17 soccer team from HTS N Diederichs THS has been raking in the trophies and added another one recently.
Their coach, Gift Seziba told the News that the team won the Mogale Soccer Top 8 tournament that was held in Kagiso on June 16 and 17. They played against other schools, and squared off against the Madiba Secondary School in the finals.
They won the match with one goal while Madiba Secondary failed to secure a goal. The team was also eight men down in the final.
Always striving to do better, the team is currently preparing for the Kay Motsepe Schools Cup, and this will be their first year participating in the Joburg league. They have moved up a league from last year.
Seziba said he was super proud of his team and the way that they develop every day and during every tournament.
This was their third trophy for the year and Seziba jokingly said they had set their sights on winning five trophies this year.
