Krugersdorp’s MotoGP man 6th in Japan

Krugersdorp's MotoGP sensation Brad Binder bounced back in Japan with a top-six finish.

Brad Binder bounced back at the Motul Grand Prix of Japan and 16th round of the season after some bad fortune recently.

The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team said the Krugersdorp MotoGP sensation started from fifth on the grid despite having a challenging time in the Saturday sprints with a did not finish (DNF). However, on race day, Brad managed to shake it off and bagged valuable championship points in what they call the Land of the Rising Sun.

“At the beginning when I wanted to push hard with the boys I kept losing the front pack but after a while everything felt ok for a section of the race. Then with six to seven laps to go, the rear tyre went and it was spinning down the straight. It was really difficult to keep consistent. In general, everything else was quite ok. It is not the result I wanted … but it is points and it was all I could give today,” Brad said.

Brad is up to fifth in the world championship standings and will race again on the weekend of October 18 to 20 at the Qatar Airways Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Phillip Island, just off Australia’s southern coast.
