Curro Krugersdorp High School's football team took on a community challenge of a different kind – accepting a friendly football match against the West Rand Association for Persons with Disabilities.

Curro Krugersdorp High School recently hosted a special event that showcased not only their learners’ passion for football but also their unwavering commitment to supporting the local community.

According to Curro Krugersdorp executive head Annemarie Lombard, they recently participated in a heart-warming and spirited friendly football match following a challenge from the West Rand Association for Persons with Disabilities (WRAPD).

“The day was more than just about football. It was a celebration of fun, friendship and the power of community. Our learners took to the field with enthusiasm, eager to engage in a match that transcended competition and emphasised the bonds that connect us all. The event provided an opportunity for our learners to demonstrate the values of teamwork, respect, and inclusivity that are central to the ethos of Curro Krugersdorp,” Annemarie said.

The event was a testament to the positive impact that sport can have in bringing people together, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds. We are incredibly proud of our football team and grateful to WRAPD for challenging us to this meaningful event. It was an experience that enriched everyone involved and further strengthened our school’s commitment to community engagement.”
