Another top 10 finish for Krugersdorp’s Brad

Brad Binder managed a top-10 finish in Spain and round 6 of the MotoGP.

Brad Binder placed eighth at The Gran Premi de Catalunya MotoGP in Spain on May 26.

According to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, this was the sixth round of 21 in the 2024 MotoGP season and where Brad flew the Krugersdorp flag high at a sunny and warm Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to bag a top 10 result.

To add, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team said that low grip was one of the main concerns in the build-up to the main event on Sunday with teams and riders diligently working on their race set-up and tyre choice to tackle the problematic tarmac.

“Binder hovered on the fringe of the podium fight but had to ease his pace to manage his front rubber. He kept consistent to make sure of eighth and holds the same slot in the championship standings,” the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team added.

“It was a bit tricky in the race today. We’d been good here all weekend but after six laps in the race the front tire dropped off and in the last few weeks when I’ve ignored that strange feeling then I end up crashing. So today [May 26] I needed to be a bit careful and when I felt the limit coming I had to lower the pace. I could not make time for braking and entry and nursing it around meant there were not moments where I could make pace. A tricky day,” Brad said.

Brad finished +18.578 after the winner and is currently placed eighth in the MotoGP World Championship standings.

He will race again at the Gran Premio d’Italia Brembo in Italy on June 2.
