Motocross hub hosts third leg of challenge

The race wasn't completed because of bad weather, but another leg of the race might soon be held at the raceway.

More than 130 racers entered the Mayfair Gearbox Interclub Challenge at the Dirt Bronco Raceway this past Saturday, 14 May.

Although the motocross race did not finish because of the bad weather, the third leg of the challenge saw both juniors and seniors tackling the intense two kilometre course. The 50cc motorcycles competed on the Junior Track, which, according to organiser Petro Snyman, is the best of its kind in Gauteng.

The raceway, newly owned since 27 February by Francios Snyman and Eddie Wantenaar is open every day except Fridays for motocross riders.

“The racecourse is not for the faint-hearted,” Petro said.

The venue for the fourth leg of the six-part challenge is yet to be announced, but Petro hopes that Dirt Bronco will once again be the host.
