Grey weather never dampened the sportsmen and women's spirits at the Best of the West Super series this weekend.

Over 800 netball, hockey and rugby players braved the cold at the Best of the West Super Series last weekend.

High schools from as far as Tzaneen participated in the sevens rugby, fast five netball and fast five hockey event at Krugersdorp High School. The junior hockey and rugby players from Khosa Sports Club added to the action-packed weekend.

In the sevens rugby section, Monument High School’s first side walked away with a victory of 29-0 over Krugersdorp High School, whose third side finished third overall in the series.

In boys hockey KHS’ Side Two won the tournament and beat KHS’ Side One in the final. The hockey girls’ first side finished second after losing to Hoërskool Ben Vorster in the final.

Unfortunately, due to bad weather the netball finals on Saturday and U/15 hockey games were cancelled.

But on Friday the girls still played their hearts out.

The game between KHS and Hoërskool Bastion ended with a close score, but KHS took the win.
