Corona, the door

Pastor Gerrit Mes; from the pulpit.

It is not often that something happens that has never happened before. But now it has. Total lockdown except for a few essential services.

Most of us, by law, have to stay home. Three weeks! At first it may seem like heaven. But I promise you, before long, it will be more like hell for most of us.

I have decided to make this time my investment in the rest of my life.

Consciously looking at my life, is this really the point? Maybe even being honest enough to admit that I may have lost the plot. My dream of changing the world, traded for just surviving. My naïve belief was that one person can make a difference. Now I am not so sure.

Sixty-four years old this year. I want to use these 21 days to plan for my future.

Why don’t you join me by investing this 21 day period, asking God, why am I here? This could be a game changer. This could be the start of a new chapter in all of our lives. Time is precious. Opportunities to reflect, rare. Corona may be the chance you needed to stop, look and listen.

PS. Every day for 21 days, let’s make a time to pray for the infected and affected. South Africa needs a miracle. Today we really need God. This pandemic could be a door into a new world for all of us.
