Don’t waste your tears

Pastor Gerrit Mes, "Crying is not a weakness, it is a language."

Very few, if any I know, have never shed a tear. Rich, poor, young, old, everyone has shed tears. Our fathers deceived us when they told us, “Boys don’t cry” or “No blood, no tears”.

Crying is a language. Tears flowing from tear ducts, running down cheeks, were part of God’s creation, not a fault or leak.

Crying, like laughter, can have great therapeutic benefits.

Crying is not a weakness, it is a language. It is the Bible that says, “Those who sow in tears, will reap with songs of joy.” — Psalm 126:5.

“In tears seek the Lord…..” — Jeremiah 50:4. Isn’t it in Luke 7:38 that we are told, “She began to wash his feet with her tears.” A sinful woman, looking for grace, had a broken heart that caused her to wash Jesus’ feet with her tears.

If you are heartbroken, scared, rejected, remember the shortest, yet powerful verse in the Bible. John 11:35, “Jesus wept.” True love is often the source of our tears.

Crying is not a sign of weakness, it is proof of divine love.

Our tears equip us to help others in their moments of despair.

Don’t waste your tears, they are drops of gold that one day will give a rich reward.

PS. “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Tears are precious in God’s sight. Amen.
