Does God have dreams?

If we look at the idyllic setting of the Garden of Eden, it would suggest that part of God is a romantic dreamer.

Adam and Eve, the animals in what can only be described as paradise. God, walking in the cool of the day, talking to his creation. It is a sign of a dream. Then for thousands of years all God’s efforts to restore that paradise lost. Finally, 2 000 years ago, a desperate effort to save the world.

2019 and honestly, the world is in a mess.

Could it be that God’s dream is totally destroyed? Maybe He can, through this, understand you and your dreams better than you can imagine. So many of our dreams shattered by other people’s choices. Divorce, financial ruin and rampant violence killed your dream. A university degree that led nowhere. A white wedding with family and friends that turned into a nightmare.

Jesus keeps trying, and so should we. Pick up the pieces. Dust ourselves off and try again.

Looking back at God’s broken dreams for us, we pick up strength to try again. “Without a vision (dream) my people perish. The Bible.

Don’t ever stop dreaming.
