You may not be a Christian, you may not even be religious, but be honest, this 2 000-year-old story told all over the world has all the ingredients of an amazing story.
Jesus is the hero; the forces against him from his birth to his death are the villains. Amazing battles are fought on the streets and in the hearts of people.
The suspense is great; he is a king, no he is not, he is winning, no he is losing. What is going to happen, how will this story end? The world holds its breath as He breathes his last.
The romance is the stable scene; two frightened parents, an innocent baby. The wise men bringing gifts. Why is he here, what is he going to do?
Two-thousand years later billions of people all over the planet still celebrate Him as God’s gift to us. Songs in malls, Christmas decorations, holidays, family, food and hope.
I want to wish all my family at the Krugersdorp News, the amazing people of Mogale and every minister in our town a blessed Christ-centred 25th of December. It is a story worth remembering and retelling. Thank you, God, for Jesus. Amen.
