How did it all start?

Pastor Gerrit Mes; from the pulpit.

I recently watched a television interview. The person doing the interview asked the very learned person in the studio, “If you could solve one problem, what would it be?”.

The expert in applied mathematics and quantum physics said he would like to get the answer to the origin of the universe. So much speculation that left me more confused than ever.

As a Christian I don’t question creation because I see God’s fingerprints in things around me.

A few months ago, on my way to work, I spotted a dove sitting next to the road. As I passed, I noticed that the dove was watching his or her mate that was killed by a speeding vehicle. The picture imprinted in my mind made me sad. That afternoon, as I drove home along the same road, I noticed the dove still helplessly watching the dead dove. My heart broke. Can it be possible that doves can mourn the loss of a friend?

Surely there must be a Creator – not only of the wonders of the universe but the characteristics in us and our fellow Earth dwellers.

It reminded me of the words in the Bible. A sparrow may have almost no monetary value, but if one falls, God knows it. People can ask all the questions, but if we ignore the evidence, we will never find God. Look around you, God is real.
