Recently, as I walked through a shop, a box on the shelf caught my attention. The picture on the box was of a perfect looking cake. Not having ever baked in my life, the words below the cake caught my attention. “Flop proof cake,” it stated. Is it possible for a novice like me to bake a perfect cake, fail-safe? Most of the ingredients were in the box and the rest could easily be bought. Then about 10 steps to follow. Adding and mixing the ingredients, pop it all in the oven and wait for the required period of time.
Life is very much like baking a cake. We need certain ingredients and they need to be in the appropriate proportions.
Imagine if you could have your perfect life. Imagine if you knew all the ingredients. Imagine if you had a fail-safe instruction list to have that perfect life.
Well, stop imagining – every one of us has most of the ingredients within us for an amazing life. The extra ingredients are also easily available.
God, the One that put all the ingredients in each one of us, also gives us the instructions to follow in His book. Read Matthew 6:23–24. God knows what you need.
