UniCollege recently set a new campus record during its latest blood donation drive. This was after a total of 50 units of blood were donated by students and the faculty, marking a new record for the college since the event’s inception in 2013.
UniCollege’s general manager Jackie Loots said this donation drive is a core part of their social responsibility initiatives which is held three times a year to support the local community and raise awareness about the importance of giving blood.
She said each unit of blood donated has the potential to save up to three lives, meaning the 50 units collected could help save the lives of as many as 150 individuals.
“This achievement highlights the dedication and generosity of both students and staff in their ongoing commitment to making a positive impact on society. We encourage not just academic excellence but also active participation in efforts that make a difference in the lives of others. Breaking this record is a testament to the compassion and dedication of our students and faculty.”
To conclude, Jackie said their donation drive has grown steadily in size and impact over the past decade.
