Embracing the spring spirit at Curamus

The Curamus Spring Market over the weekend had a little bit of everything; from handmade crafts and positive vibes to a potjie competition.

The Curamus Spring Market was dubbed a spectacular success all thanks to generous community members in Krugersdorp.

The market’s co-ordinator, Kelsey Bezuidenhout, said the two-day event held on August 30 to 31 at the Curamus School for Autism, was jam-packed with the most incredible crafts, handmade products, activities for children and competitions that the whole family could partake in. The proceeds were then donated to the school.

Divan, Bianca, Déanka en Karli Faber enjoy the market.

“Although the weather didn’t co-operate with us, we had a wonderful turnout. The mini Masterchef competition was a great success. The competitors had big smiles throughout the day and a lot of fun,” said Kelsey excitedly.

She continued that their Spring Walk was also a joyful activity that families enjoyed together. Taking a walk through the various stalls showcased some exceptionally good quality items were for sale.

Marie and Hansie van Wyk enjoy some delicious food for sale.

“The jumble sale was almost completely sold out which was very exciting. The food court was also very well supported with many patrons coming back for seconds and even thirds. The proof was in the pudding with almost a thousand pancakes sold!” she added.

“There were eight potjies entered for our annual potjie competition. We want to thank the surrounding communities for the support and to make sure to mark your calendar for the Curamus Spring Market 2025,” Kelsey concluded.
